E.ON responds to the upturn from FiTs

E.ON Sustainable Energy has announced the appointment of Thomas Buss as Head of Microgeneration, to help further strengthen and drive its offering within the specialist field.

Buss brings with him a wealth of expertise to his new role, with over 14 years of experience in the renewable energy and tech industries. Prior to joining E.ON, he previously held roles at Philips, where he led a start-up in Energy Management, and Ariston Thermo Group, as Head of Renewable Microgeneration.

During his recent career, Buss has managed a portfolio of heat pumps, solar thermal products and significant investments in Stirling and Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Micro CHP.

Commenting on his appointment, Buss said “With E.ON’s extensive experience in Heat Pumps and Solar PV projects, as well as the relationships it has with local city councils, developers and businesses, it is perfectly placed to help the UK get energy fit. I am delighted to have joined at a time when there is huge potential for E.ON in this rapidly growing industry.”

Michael Woodhead, Managing Director of E.ON’s Sustainable Energy business commented “We are delighted to welcome someone as experienced as Thomas to our team, where we are certain he will make a significant contribution to the continued success of the business.

“The Government’s introduction of feed-in tariffs (FITs) and recent commitment to the renewable heat incentive (RHI), to offer cash back to those who use renewable energy sources for their properties, has raised the profile of sustainable energy substantially. It’s an exciting time for local councils as well as businesses, communities and individuals to deploy low carbon electricity generation in homes and workplaces to reduce their carbon footprint and earn money at the same time.”
