Our client is a significant player on the world stage in the financing and development of large-scale solar projects. The company is fully committed to the UK market and is looking to further develop their UK operations and will concentrate on sub 5MW AND larger schemes for CfD. A key role required is that of a Project Acquisition Developer. The outline scope and responsibilities of which are below. In what can be a volatile market this is an opportunity to join a substantial company with a big commitment to the UK and to solar, and the funds to bring development to fruition. Applicant should have a sound working knowledge of the UK ground-mounted market, an understanding of the typical infrastructure comprising a solar farm, the ability to read and interpret layout plans and elevations. Strong written and verbal skills are required as the role involves the preparation of written reports and liaison with a variety of stakeholders. It is essential you have strong commercial acumen and presence; comfortable representing the company at senior level.

You should also have;

• A minimum of 1 year working for a solar developer.

• Need to be well networked with key Developers and Land Agents for project referrals.

• Comfortable with Financial Analysis and how individual project parameters impact on project returns.

• Familiar with the Planning Process.

• Good knowledge of Grid Issues and familiar with ICP and DNO work practices.
Duties and responsibilities;

• Manage the whole development process to include project control, interconnection, permits, financing, PPA, etc.

• Acquire project pipeline in late preconstruction stage (planning in place).

• Communicate with external stakeholders such as Project Owners and Land Agents to initiate and develop projects.

• Contribute to the development and implementation of the Department’s strategy through the introduction and evaluation of new innovative business models.

• Financial Modelling of potential projects to ensure they are in line with target investment criteria.

• Management and of all local ICP and DNO activities.

• Negotiation of all commercial terms and resulting legal contracts related to a Project Acquisition e.g. Project Development and Share Purchase Agreements, etc.

• Assisting Head of Project Development and Senior Project Developer with other tasks as required.
