CNN planning series of green-focused programmes

Budding eco-warriors are being invited to become part of environmental history by CNN, which is offering people the chance to appear on CNN and and potentially help shape the future of low-carbon lifestyles.

In December this year the 17th session of the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (COP 17) will take place in Durban, where world leaders will seek to replace the Kyoto Protocol with a binding long-term plan on combating climate change.

To mark the journey to this moment, CNN will be showing a series of 30-minute programmes each month that will explore the cities that are making strides in reducing their carbon footprint.

‘The Road to Durban: A Green City Journey’ will take viewers on a journey beginning in the UK and on to Germany, Turkey, Kenya, South Africa (Durban) and then Abu Dhabi, presenting some of the best ideas from individuals, businesses and organisations on working toward a greener planet.

In each city, CNN wants people to tell them how they live a low-carbon lifestyle for their chance to appear on ‘The Road to Durban: A Green City Journey’, beginning with the UK show on 17th August 2017. Individuals, communities or businesses are encouraged to get involved and tell their story - no idea is too big or too small.

Simply upload an idea or example via iReport at as soon as possible and it could be profiled on the programme or on the CNN microsite. It could even be presented to delegates at the conference in Durban in December.
